Cross Stitch - The Set Up
To start a cross stitch I like to get myself organised, so first I get everything I need ready, I sort out my Aida, and most importantly my floss, I number a piece of card then attach the floss accordingly to each number. The reason I do this is because some of the shades are almost the same, and I can hardly tell the difference so I have to go by the numbers. Each floss is made up of six strands and most cross stitch projects use two strands of one floss at a time.
Now we move on to the Aida, If like me you have to use a frame or a hoop then attach your Aida keeping it quite taunt in the middle and a over lap on the sides, there you are now ready to start your cross stitch, Have fun.
I hope this helps you on getting started: Cross Stitch Tips
